Fixed at your home or work in Mackay, in about 40 minutes. Each extra chip is $40.

Can yours be repaired?
Pick what yours looks like. Smaller than a 10c coin and away from the edge, it is usually a repair.

What else decides it
How deep it went. A windscreen is two sheets of glass with plastic between them. If the break has gone through the inner sheet, resin from the outside cannot reach it and a repair will not hold.
How close to the edge. The perimeter is where the glass is bonded to the car and where the stress lives. Damage that starts near the edge tends to run, whatever its size.
How long it has been there. Weeks of rain, dust and wiper fluid sitting in the break lower the odds of a clean bond. Not a hard no, but it is why sooner is better than later.
What shape it is. A bullseye, a star and a combination break are not the same job. They take different time and they finish differently. The price is the same because my time is the same, but the result is not identical.

Why fix it now
Fix the chip today
$100, about 40 minutes at your home or work, and you keep driving.
If it cracks
- A new windscreen costs far more than a chip repair.
- It can take days: an insurance claim and its excess, waiting for the glass, booking a fitter, and on cars with a camera behind the mirror, a recalibration at a workshop.
- A crack in the driver's view can fail a safety certificate when you sell.

Quick answers
Will the chip disappear completely?
No, and be careful with anyone who says it will. A repair fills the break and restores most of the strength, and it makes the damage far less likely to run. What it does not do is make it invisible: you will usually still see a faint mark if you look for it. If you want the glass to look new you want a replacement, and that is a different job at a different price.
How long does it take, and can I drive after?
About 40 minutes, and yes, straight away. Nothing comes out of the car, so there is no adhesive curing and no waiting around.
Why is it a fixed price when everyone else needs to see the car?
Because a repair does not depend on which glass your car takes. A replacement does, and that is a genuine reason for a windscreen quote to be complicated. A chip repair is resin, a tool and about 40 minutes on any car ever made. The people hiding that number behind a callback are not protecting you from complexity.
What if it cracks while you are repairing it?
It is uncommon but it does happen, and it is a known risk of the process rather than a mistake. The damage was already there. If it spreads during the repair I will tell you on the spot, and you do not pay me for a repair that did not hold.
Should I claim it on insurance?
Usually not. Without glass cover a chip costs you the excess, which is usually more than $100, and paying for it yourself keeps it off your claims history. If your policy repairs glass with no excess, your insurer picks who does it, so ring them first with this price. I do not lodge claims.
Do you do windscreen replacements too?
No. Repairs only, and that is deliberate rather than temporary. It means the price can be fixed with no conditions attached. If your damage needs a new windscreen, I tell you who to go to.
Can't I just use a $13 kit from the supermarket?
You can, and on a small fresh chip it sometimes works. A syringe kit has no real vacuum, so the resin often fills the top and leaves air in the legs: the chip can still show and still spread. If a DIY repair goes wrong, the old resin and the air stay inside and it is much harder to repair properly afterwards. A proper repair uses a bridge that pulls the air out and pushes the resin to the end of every leg.
